The short solo piece "Postscriptum" for oboe was inspired by a conversation I had the privilege of having with Bertold Hummel in Regensburg. At the time, I was sitting my Church Music B examination, and he was chairing the examination board. Throughout my studies, I was able to present my compositions to him every year. During our conversation, he encouraged me to compose using modes and suggested I try this with a solo instrumental piece. To this end, he wrote down a tone row for me to use as material. Years later, I came across his mode again. This short piece for oboe makes free use of it. It is no masterpiece, but a quiet tribute from a great admirer of Bertold Hummel.
