As a freelancer for Südwestfunk Baden-Baden, Bertold Hummel was repeatedly commissioned to provide musical accompaniment for radio plays in the 1950s and 1960s. He either improvised himself on the then modern Cembalet or composed miniatures for small ensembles, which he recorded in the recording studio together with musician friends.
The following radio plays were released on vinyl by Calig-Verlag Freiburg i. Brsg. at the time:

Between 1951 and 1963, Bertold Hummel composed the soundtracks for various cultural films, which were produced at the E.E.A. Krafft-Film GmbH film studio in Freiburg with producers Michael Kalmus and Dr. Raimund Kaufmann, among others. Researching these films is proving very difficult. Films nos. 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 are located in the Federal Film Archive in Koblenz. However, for conservation reasons, only no. 10 can be used. Film no. 3 about H. Matisse can be borrowed from the Passau Municipal Media Centre. If you have any information about the whereabouts of the other films, we would be very grateful if you could let us know!
