Benjamin Kagl (born 2005) began taking piano lessons at the age of five with Prof. Anja David, and later with Nataliya Stober. From 2009 to 2019, he was a member of the children’s choir at Herford Minster and performed as a soloist in the boys’ soprano section. He took organ lessons with Stefan Kagl, and this was soon followed by performances as a soloist and accompanist, as well as two first prizes at the Volksbank Youth Music Competitions (piano and harpsichord). He attended the Friedrichs-Gymnasium in Herford. Since 2024, he has been studying church music at the Würzburg University of Music, initially in the organ class of Prof. Dr. h.c. Christoph Bossert, and currently with Prof. Stefan Schmidt. He gained valuable insights from masterclasses with Vincent Dubois, David Briggs, Guy Bovet and Martin Sturm.
