Capriccios, ricercars, suites and fantasias are performed – some strictly structured, others radically open. Well-known names such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann and Benjamin Britten are joined by lesser-known but no less compelling composers such as Bertold Hummel (Fantasia II in memoriam Pablo Casals), Paul Ben-Haim and Gabriel Koeppen.
