The title ‘Fluid Boundaries’ aptly characterises the works brought together by the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti on this recording: despite strong links to the cultural region of Tyrol, geographical and musical-stylistic boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred. The starting point here is the legacy of the renowned German composer Bertold Hummel (1925–2002), whose work *Partita for Chamber Orchestra*, Op. 79, is available for the first time on this CD as a co-production of Bayerischer Rundfunk — Studio Franken and the Würzburg Studio for New Music. In addition, two new orchestral works are presented that make direct reference to Bertold Hummel: In memory of the composer, Christoph Wünsch (*1955) composed the colourful *Concerto for Saxophone and Chamber Orchestra*, which has already been successfully performed on several occasions; it is dedicated to the saxophonist Lutz Koppetsch, who impressively brings the solo part to life in all its facets. Laurence Traiger (*1956) also incorporates memories of Hummel and, in *Fließende Grenzen – Fluid Boundaries*, establishes a connection between Germany and Tyrol on a meta-level.

A 24-page, bilingual (German/English) booklet containing further information on the composers and compositions is included with the CD.
