At the suggestion of his viola-playing daughter-in-law Andrea, Bertold Hummel arranged the final movement(Allegro molto) of his Divertimento for 4 violins or violin orchestra op. 36a for 4 violas. The piece was premiered in Hamburg on 6 February 2000 as an effective finale to a viola concert programme.
