Franz Fehrenbach

Franz Fehrenbach studied with Bertold Hummel at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg and premiered his Sonatina for trumpet and piano op. 1a on 19 July 1951.

Biography

from 1935: first trumpet lessons at the age of 12 at the Waldkirch/Breisgau music school on his own initiative
from 1941: military service
1943-46: American captivity
1946-48: French captivity
During his time in captivity from 1943-48, he was the musical director of a men's choir and various entertainment orchestras.
1949-51: Trumpet player in the small entertainment orchestra in Freiburg/Breisgau
1952-66: Trumpeter in the Baden-Baden spa orchestra, now the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra
1966-84: Trumpeter in the SWF Symphony Orchestra in Baden-Baden
1961-1992: various conducting positions with a male choral society and several brass bands in the Upper Rhine region
